During the operational meeting of the Council of Ministers“Head” of the so-called “Luhansk People's Republic” (LPR) Igor Plotnitskiy instructed the State Committee on Religion and spirituality of the LPR to check collectively with the Ministry of State Security and the Interior Ministry the activities of religious communities in the Republic. This was reported by separatist website “Luhansk information center,” RBC reports.
At the same time, Plotnitskiy reminded of the freedom of religion.
"You know, we have both registered and unregistered religious organizations. We need to understand who is where. In no case we shall interfere in their work, if their activitieshave no political coloring,” he stressed.
Plotnitskiy also ordered that the sects were taken under special control, and other organizations reported location of their service.
“It is no use qualifying them(the sects – editor’s note) as religious communities, there are many competent people to separate the chaff from the grain, therefore, if they are sects, theyare subject to special monitoring, if it is a service –no problem, people may deal with them and serve. But we must know who, where and what,” said Plotnitskiy, appealing to the security forces.
In addition, he instructed as the so-called State Committee on Religion and spirituality to organize a meeting with representatives of all religions to discuss with them issues of spirituality and establish cooperation.
